Monica gardens with the kids she cares for, and is able to engage kids in the process of purchasing local foods and growing their own food. She says: 

“The kid's favorite veggie by far was the sugar snap peas and carrots...but they were willing to try most of the foods since we grew it! Things we did not grow, we went to the farmers market, corn stand and bought so it was fun to see them try so many new things there too! They were always excited to water our garden every day, dig under all the big leaves to find new growth & even pick weeds!”
